The 2022 midterm elections could be the most consequential in years. According to political experts, the midterm election could possibly defy political history and reset modern political norms.

Each seat in the U.S. House of Representatives and all seats in the New York State Legislature are up for election. New York’s incumbent Democratic Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and State Comptroller all face challenges by Republican opponents.

35 seats in the U.S. Senate are also up for election. This includes U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Charles Schumer, New York’s senior member in that chamber.

About the Presenter:
Bruce Gyory is a senior advisor in the government and regulatory practice in the firm's Albany office. He has over 28 years of experience working as an attorney, and has served three Governors of New York, two as a senior advisor. Bruce provides his clients with assistance in managing the political, media and communications challenges facing institutions and businesses in today's marketplace.

Prior to joining Manatt, Bruce served as a strategic consultant for Corning Place Communications, where he advised on a variety of political and communications challenges.

Bruce is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Albany, focusing on national and state voting trends. He has extensive experience in the fields of higher education and healthcare, and with academic health centers.
