OVERVIEW of TRAINING
Not your typical training..... It's so much more! The Person Centered Planning Training is led by Ed Bartz and Kirsten Sanchirico. While Kirsten has worked in the field since 1991 starting as a Direct Support Professional in a Day Habilitation Program, Ed has lived a service driven life for over 48 years and over these years has directed his life plan. Ed was placed in an institution when he was 4 years old and speaks from his experience when he teaches Person Centered Planning.
This training offers participants the unique opportunity to practice the skills needed for effective Person Centered Planning with someone whose life presents many common challenges in the service driven world. It is a unique opportunity to think differently about how to provide true person centered supports one person at a time.
Using Person Centered Practices to Facilitate Individual Planning consists of two days, focused on how to incorporate the use of person centered tools into the requirements of Individual Plan development. These two days demonstrate how person centered practice can be used within the system requirements to accomplish a more satisfying planning process that builds partnership between the person who is supported and the people who provide support.
PREREQUISITE: This training is only offered to participants of a Person-Centered Thinking training held within the last year.
Certification Details: Upon completion of the two-day, in-person training, participants will need to complete additional homework that must then be approved by a Certified Person-Centered Planner before becoming a Certified Person-Centered Planner.
