We’re in the midst of the pandemic, the workforce crisis is at epic proportions and the fiscal sustainability of the sector is uncertain. It’s clear New York’s sector for supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is at a crossroads. The time for reform is upon us.
As you’re aware, the New York Alliance for Inclusion & Innovation (NY Alliance) recently released a set of recommendations for the redesign of the State’s service delivery system in its Path to the Future of Supports and Services for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities document.
We’ll be hosting 6 Regional Town Hall meetings in the first two weeks of January to present the Path to the Future, seek your feedback on the recommendations and areas for reform and discuss challenges resulting from the pandemic.
The Town Hall meetings will be held using a virtual format.
The NY Alliance invites you or your designee to attend this event where we’ll engage in interactive dialogue and exchange ideas for the future of the system.
The virtual Town Halls are scheduled regionally and registration for each region is available on the NY Alliance website. We encourage you to register for the Town Hall in your region. If you are unsure which region you are in, click here to view the NY Alliance’s Membership Regions and the counties included in each region.
On behalf of the NY Alliance, we look forward to your agency's participation in the upcoming Regional Town Hall meetings.
