What is your agency’s hiring model? Are individuals with disabilities included in your agency’s diversity plan? Does your agency recruit, retain and promote people with disabilities? Do your Job Coaches know how to make the business case to promote this the creation of a diverse workforce that includes people with disabilities?

Our Ability Alliance is the parent organization for the New York Business Leadership Network which collaborates with employers on increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. To date, we are building the bridge between businesses and organizations representing people with disabilities for employment purposes. We have 32 businesses across the state of New York interested in employing all people with disabilities, including graduate and postgraduate students. 

Our Webinar Goals Include: 

  1. Educate each organization about the bridge we are building towards employment. 
  2. Learn how to implement a new recruiting strategy that includes individuals with disabilities 
  3. Help Job Coaches develop the necessary tools to be able to go out and speak “business to business.” 

Our Ability’s CEO John Robinson is a 2014 White House Champion of Change and the subject of “Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story,” a public television documentary. Plus, John penned “Get Off Your Knees: A Story of Faith, Courage, and Determination,” published in 2009.
